Vodafone Idea to Increase Mobile Plan Rates Starting July 4 Following Jio and Airtel
In New Delhi, Vodafone Idea has unveiled updated prepaid and postpaid plans set to take effect from July 4. These new plans include tariff increases ranging from 11% to 24% across various prepaid and postpaid offerings.
The company has also outlined plans for substantial investments in the coming quarters aimed at improving the 4G experience and introducing 5G services.
According to press releases shared on stock exchanges, Vodafone Idea has ensured that all new tariff plans will be accessible to customers through existing touchpoints and channels.

Under the revised tariff plans, Vodafone Idea has raised the cost of its entry-level plan with a validity of 28 days by 11%, now priced at Rs 199 compared to the previous Rs 179. Additionally, the telecom operator has increased the price of its popular 84-day validity plan offering 1.5 GB data per day to Rs 859 from the earlier Rs 719.
Furthermore, the company has implemented a 21% price hike on its annual unlimited plan, setting the new rate at Rs 3,499 compared to the current Rs 2,899. In the daily data plan category, Vodafone Idea has raised the price of its Rs 479 plan, which offers a 56-day validity and 1.5GB data per day, to Rs 579, marking an increase of approximately 21%.

According to Vi’s statement, they aim to provide consumers with straightforward and comprehensive plans. They have designed an optimal range of feature-rich plans to cater to diverse consumer needs. Vi remains committed to supporting entry-level users with minimal changes in entry-level plans while linking higher prices to increased usage progressively.
Vi also highlights its exclusive offerings to prepaid customers such as Night Free Data and Weekend Data Roll Over through its ‘Hero Unlimited’ plans, along with a unique ‘Choose Your Benefit’ option available to postpaid customers under the Vi Max Plans. Previously, Bharti Airtel announced a tariff increase ranging from 10% to 21% across its prepaid, postpaid, and data plans on Friday. The day before, Reliance Jio also raised tariffs for all its prepaid and postpaid plans. Telecom operators have been emphasizing the necessity for tariff hikes in the industry to expand services and support investments in 5G technology.
Airtel stated during its tariff announcement on Friday that they view these ARPU levels as necessary to support significant investments in network technology and spectrum, while also providing a reasonable return on capital. They expressed support for industry-wide tariff adjustments aimed at achieving these goals.
The revised tariff plans from Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel will take effect from July 3.
