Bomb threats in Delhi schools: Spark Panic and Evacuations
Bomb threats in Delhi schools, nearly 100 schools in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) found themselves at the center of chaos and fear today as bomb threats disrupted normalcy. According to reports from news agency ANI, schools received alarming emails on May 1, warning of bombs planted on their premises. This prompted immediate action from authorities, triggering widespread panic among students, parents, and school staff.
The Delhi Government’s Education Directorate has issued guidance to schools following the false bomb threats, urging school authorities to promptly notify the relevant district and zone authorities as well as the Delhi Police.
Following the bomb threats to multiple schools in Delhi-NCR, the Special Cell of the Delhi Police has taken action by lodging an FIR against unidentified individuals under sections 120B and 506 of the Indian Penal Code, according to reports from news agency ANI.
The Delhi Police provided an update stating that the bomb threats targeting schools today appear to be false alarms. They have urged the public not to panic. All students have been safely evacuated and are being sent home, ensuring their safety, the police assured.
Atul Garg, Chief of the Delhi Fire Services (DFS), acknowledged receiving numerous distress calls about bomb threats from both school authorities and Delhi Police officers. Garg noted a concentration of calls from a specific area and confirmed that their control room had received reports of bomb threats from nearly 60 schools. He mentioned that fire crews were dispatched to some schools but returned upon finding them already evacuated and inspected. Garg also hinted that the count of affected schools could rise further.
Bomb threats in Delhi schools: Delhi Police Investigation
Following the bomb threats to multiple schools in Delhi-NCR, the Special Cell of the Delhi Police has filed a First Information Report (FIR) against unidentified individuals under sections 120B and 506 of the Indian Penal Code, as per reports from news agency ANI. The Special Cell is reportedly investigating the possibility of a collaborative conspiracy involving China and the ISI.
As per the information, the investigation will be conducted by the Counter Intelligence Team of the Special Cell. Additionally, the IFSO unit is working to trace the origin of the email, revealing a connection to Russia through the IP address. The agency has also mentioned exploring the possibility of a joint conspiracy involving China and the ISI.
