Bomb Threat In Delhi Schools
Bomb threats in Delhi schools, Today nearly 100 schools in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) were forced to evacuate due to bomb threats, causing widespread chaos and panic. Images from the schools depicted parents hastily arriving to collect their children. Lengthy lines of vehicles congested major roads and highways linking Delhi to Gurugram and Noida in Uttar Pradesh.
Bomb Threats Trigger Panic and Evacuations
Numerous commuters reported significant delays in reaching their destinations. One individual, stranded on a South Delhi route, mentioned to NDTV that they managed to traverse only 2 kilometers in half an hour. Another commuter, commuting from Gurugram to Delhi, endured a journey of 2.5 hours to reach her office in Greater Kailash, a trip typically completed in 1.5 hours.
Following notifications to local authorities, school premises were evacuated.
The Delhi Police’s Special Cell has initiated an inquiry, although no suspicious items have been discovered in any of the schools, as per police statements.
Senior police officer Kumar Mahla reassured the public, stating, “We’ve thoroughly searched all the schools, finding nothing alarming; there’s no cause for alarm.”
The Home Ministry also declared the threats likely to be false alarms and urged against panic. “It appears to be a hoax call. Delhi Police and security agencies are following standard procedures,” the government stated.
Police and fire department personnel are conducting comprehensive examinations at all the affected schools following the bomb threats received around 4:15 am.
