T20 World Cup Final IND vs SA Nasser Hussain Praises Rohit Sharma’s Leadership: “An Iron Fist in a Velvet Glove”

Earlier, former England captain Nasser Hussain expressed his admiration for India skipper Rohit Sharma, praising his batting and leadership skills. Hussain described Rohit as an iron fist in a velvet glove.

“I’ve admired Rohit for a long time, both as a batter and a captain, as well as a person. He has a calming influence. Unlike other captains like Virat, who are very passionate and wear their hearts on their sleeves, Rohit is more like an iron fist in a velvet glove. You don’t mess with Rohit, but he also acts like a big brother, offering support and care,” said Nasser Hussain.

Throughout the tournament, India, under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, has displayed consistent dominance against their opponents. They have convincingly defeated strong teams like Australia, Pakistan, and England, showcasing their prowess in both batting and bowling departments.

In contrast, South Africa’s path to the final has been fraught with challenges and narrow escapes. They faced significant challenges from teams like Bangladesh and Nepal during the group stage matches, where they had to fight hard for victories.

One of the most critical moments for South Africa came in their final Super 8 match against co-hosts West Indies. Here, they found themselves in a precarious position while chasing a revised target of 123 runs. The match was crucial as it almost led to their elimination from the tournament, underscoring their resilience and determination to progress.

Overall, while India has enjoyed a smooth and commanding journey under Rohit Sharma’s leadership, South Africa’s path has been characterized by tough battles and close encounters, making their journey to the final all the more hard-fought and significant.
