Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Actor Gurucharan Singh (Sodhi) Missing for Five Days; Police Investigate Possible Kidnapping
It’s been over five days since Gurucharan Singh, renowned for his role as Sodhi in “Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah,” was reported missing. Singh departed from his residence in Delhi on April 22 to travel to Mumbai. However, neither did he reach Mumbai nor return home, prompting his father to file a missing complaint. Subsequently, the police initiated an investigation, registering a case of kidnapping under section 365. In an interview with Indianexpress.com, Singh’s co-star Mandar Chandwadkar, who portrays Bhide in the show, mentioned that Singh frequently commuted between Delhi and Mumbai.
Mandar also revealed that his last encounter with Gurucharan was in December. He expressed his surprise, mentioning that Gurucharan frequently travels between Delhi and Mumbai. Their last meeting occurred at Dilip Joshi’s son’s wedding in December, where they enjoyed each other’s company. However, they haven’t stayed in touch since then. Mandar expressed hope and prayers for Gurucharan’s well-being.
Interestingly, Gurucharan Singh’s most recent social media activity was also five days ago, coinciding with the time of his disappearance. He posted a birthday greeting for his father.
According to a PTI report, the Delhi Police Special Cell dispatched a team to Gurucharan Singh’s residence in Delhi’s Palam locality to probe his perplexing disappearance. CCTV footage captured the actor crossing the road near the Delhi airport, carrying a backpack. Additionally, authorities disclosed that they had uncovered crucial leads regarding his whereabouts through technical investigations.
Earlier reports indicated that Gurucharan’s (Sodhi) health was not in optimal condition prior to his disappearance. Allegedly, he was experiencing high blood pressure and wasn’t maintaining a proper diet. Additionally, he had undergone health check-ups a few days before he went missing.
Actress Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, known for her role as Gurucharan’s wife on TMKOC, responded to the news by stating, “I am unaware. I haven’t been in contact with him since June 2023. I pray for his safety and well-being.”

Detailed reports reveal that CCTV footage has emerged, depicting Gurucharan Singh, renowned for his iconic role as Roshan Singh Sodhi in the widely popular television series ‘Taarak Mehta ka Ulta Chashma.’ The footage captures Singh’s presence at Parshuram Chowk in Delhi’s Palam area precisely at 9:14 PM on April 22. In the footage, Singh can be seen walking, carrying a bag on his back, as he navigates through the vicinity.
